In McKinney, the best-known bakeries and bagel shops have lines on weekend mornings, so arrive early or order ahead where the shop offers it. Across Texas, immigrant bakeries add Mexican pan dulce, Vietnamese banh mi bread, Chinese buns, Middle Eastern sweets and European rye to the mix, and many gluten-free and vegan bakeries have opened in larger cities. Check the listing for hours, whether the shop accepts custom cake orders and its Google rating before you go, and call about allergens, since small kitchens often share equipment. Day-old bread and end-of-day discounts are common if you ask.

Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone.

With 3.9 out of 5 on Google from 181 reviews, it sits in the middle of the range for donut shops in McKinney. Recent reviews are the best guide.

McKinney is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and McKinney follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

So the food was absolutely disgusting and I’m not even that picky when it comes to donut shops I just don’t like them to taste like they’ve been in a box, but when I was at the register, there was an older man who was checking me out and getting my food together, he clearly had pink eye, and he went to scratch his eye, and he literally got the gunk out of his eye with his hand, grabbed my food and handed it to me. That was the absolute most disgusting thing I’ve ever seen in my life mind you I had just asked him because the food looks like it’s been there for like days so I asked him was this food just made today and he said yes OK so I got one of the sausage cheese and jalapeño rolls and when I took my first bite, it clearly tasted old but not only that I looked inside of it and there was ham like pieces of ham still in it from whatever it was before, I’ve never seen anything like it so the hotdog was in there with the strings of Hamm and I’ve attached a picture for proof

Sometimes you get the best outcome with “hole in the wall” donut shops… but not this one. When you walk in, you’re greeted with a very musty, interesting smell… that should’ve been red flag #1. When the owner/employee/not really sure who came up to the counter, they were filthy and had puss coming out of their eye. No joke. It seriously made me so incredibly uncomfortable and even thinking about it now makes me so sick. I should’ve walked out immediately. We paid for our donuts and there was no thank you or anything- he just turned and walked away. We immediately left and went and got a different breakfast somewhere else because I couldn’t stop thinking about how gross the place was and the lack of hygiene. 🤮

I’ve eaten here before the food is fine. The people that work here are incredibly rude. I was in a wreck. I called them to ask if they had security footage of my wreck and they threatened to call the police on me. They told me to get a warrant and not to call back. I don’t know what I did to offend them. I have the conversation on recording. I think that was incredibly unprofessional when the answer could’ve just been “no don’t have footage” I’m not a Karen. I’m not the type of person to scream at minimum wage employees. I also think that it’s incredibly rude to threaten to call the police on somebody for asking if they had footage of a car wreck. Do better.

Classic good donut shop! The cake and old fashioned donuts were a little bit too sweet for my liking. For instance, the blueberry tasted more like sugar than it did like blueberry. But still would be great with like a glass of milk or something like that. I can't complain too much because the donut was free after I bought a dozen chocolate glazed and a dozen regular glazed. Those of which my coworkers totally loved! I definitely recommend this place for a quick bite!
